![]() The Lady was more solid off the tee and I am yet to find something that handles as well as the Laddie.įor my money, the Laddie is the ball to beat with the Lady good for days when you need some extra distance. However, when played next to the Lady or the Laddie, the Strata seemed to come up short where it counted. The Strata "9 for the price of 6" sounded like the ball for me (especially after reading some of the reviews). I wanted to find an inexpensive ball to kill any urge I had to invest in Pro V1's on a regular basis. I just didn't feel right driving OR putting. I felt the Strata to be dead off the tee and like a wet sponge on the greens. Let me tell you that I got what I wanted with the Lady and the Laddie, but not the Strata. Let me first say, I have a very fast swing (averaging about 115) but was willing to sacrifice distance for some feel. Picked up some Strata Tour Pro 90's as well as some Precept Ladies and Laddies. Okay, heard all about these cheap, soft balls. I'll be going back to the shop and buying as many boxes as I can get. At full price these are competitive with any other high priced balls, at current price they are an absolute steal. I would definitely reccomend these to any low marker looking for a ball that does it all, and still feels soft. I'm surprised these balls were discontinued, possibly prejudiced by the durability issues with the old stratas as other premium balls were definitely more durable, as they are the best balls available at any price (although I haven't tried the Nike one black which is reputed to be very good). The only fault I could make of these was that early in the round I hit a full sand wedge that scuffed the ball significantly, although as the round progressed the ball held up ok and was definitely more durable than the old stratas that would be shredded after a couple of holes. The feel off the putter is fantastic and the ball seems to get rolling straight away, leading to good distance control on the greens. Around the greens these balls are very reponsive and perform simlarly to the older Tour Ultimate, which was one of the best short game balls ever made. These balls are also very workable, and will respond to any type of shot. On full shots the ball stopped well and backed up with the shorter irons, and the consitency was excellent. ![]() The ball flight was a perfect medium to high and held it's line well in the wind. ![]() Off the driver they go straight and long and appear to have low spin. Much softer than the ProV1X or Callaway HX Tour that seem to be all the rage with low markers these days, but still solid. I found these as long as any ball I've used, both with the driver and with the irons, and the feel was exceptional. I got these because they are discontinued and were on special, but I was blown away by their performance. I have recently used the new gold box professionals.
